TF - Astro Turf

Boots with Turf soles (turf, called Astro Turf) are sufficient for maximum grip on synthetic sand or water-based carpet typically laid on concrete, reducing the discomfort that the studs can cause to the sole of the foot on the more solid surfaces.

Subsequently a harder and faster surface, boots for use on turf (TF) usually have a cushioned midsole and a very durable, flat, multi-lugged or dimpled rubber outsole because turf requires light stud penetration.

The use of other types of boots soles on turf is not recommended, just as the use of TF boots on natural grass grounds is not recommended.
