On this page you will find all the models of Nike football boots. You may be wondering: how to choose the right football boot? Nike offers different models and price ranges based on the role you play and how often you play. Mercurial Superfly and Vapor are typically lighter, offer excellent grip and are very sensitive to foot movement. Ideal therefore for a role of attack and racing. They are in fact used by players such as Cristiano Ronaldo CR7, Kylian Mbappé, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Vinicius Junior, Dusan Vlahovic or Federico Chiesa e Nicolò Barella.

Kevin de Bruyne, Phil Foden, Gavi, Erling Haaland and Lautaro Martinez instead use Phantom, a type of shoe ideal for maximum sensitivity and precision, therefore for a midfield role or top stricker.

Tiempo, on the other hand, is a more comfortable shoe, very sensitive to the touch. Ideal for goalkeepers, defenders and good-pace midfielders such as Sandro Tonali, Jordan Henderson, Virgil Van Dijk or Allison.

The price points, on the other hand, are divided into Elite, Pro, Academy and Club. There are several differences between the more expensive models (Elite, Pro) and the less expensive ones (Academy, Club).

Finally, Nike football boots are designed for different types of terrain. You will notice the abbreviations FG, SG and AG. FG - compact ground - is ideal for hard ground. SG - soft ground - is ideal for soft ground. AG - artificial ground - is ideal for artificial ground.

Differences between the various price points of Nike football boots.

The most affordable price point is called 'Club'. These football shoes are designed for amateur players, who play 1-2 times a week. The upper is made of synthetic material with printed graphics. The lining is typically made of soft fabric and the insole is non-removable. The sole is typically made of TPU. 

Next we have the 'Academy' price point. These football shoes are designed for amateur footballers. The upper is made of synthetic leather. The lining is not fabric but leather, i.e. lightened. The insole becomes removable. The tongue is stitched up to the middle, so it remains more stable. The sole, on the other hand, is still made of TPU. The collar (sock) is sometimes present and made of elastic material, to give stability to the ankle. 

Moving up a level, we arrive at the price point defined as 'Pro'. These football boots are designed for professional players, with considerable change. The upper is micro-textured microfibre, for better ball control. The shoe is lightweight, with minimal synthetic leather lining to help improve performance. The insole is cushioned to reduce pressure from the cleats. The sole is made of lightened ecological rubber, with cleats that increase vertical traction. In the sock version, the collar changes to a 'fit' version to increase stability, especially in changes of direction. Compared to the lower priced model, it offers firmer elasticity, improving ankle stability.

Finally, we have the 'Elite' price point. These football shoes are designed for professional players, so shoes that can be used 3-4 times a week plus match. Micro-pressurised synthetic material to improve grip on the ball, with ACC treatment to keep feet dry and ball control even in wet or rainy weather conditions. Nike Grip on the insole keeps the foot from shifting during activity. Cleats create a structure for maximum grip, lightened Nylon outsole that follows the shape of the foot to relieve energy expenditure during changes of direction. The upper is made of Flyknit to ensure maximum grip and sensitivity. A shoe bag is provided.

 

 

How to choose a football boot

The first question to ask yourself is "on what ground do you play?". There are different solutions depending precisely on the playing surface. FG is flat sole ideal for hard grass pitch. For artificial turf we choose the AG sole plate. There are some mix sole plates, such as FG-AG, which is good for both grounds. On soft grass pitches we will go for the SG, with a conical iron cleat. Perfect for better traction on uneven ground. 

The second question is about foot characteristics. Narrow, medium or wide sole. Mercurial is ideal for a narrow sole. Medium plant Phantom, wide plant instead we will aim at Tiempo because being in leather it adapts better to the shape of the foot. 

The foot can also have a high or low instep. For high necks we recommend choosing a shoe without a sock (collar). Those with a more tapered foot can choose freely with or without a collar. 

Finally, let's look at the right shoe for the role. The concept of shoe by role has changed somewhat over time, that said to give you a guide we offer a statistic: goalkeepers typically use Tiempo, central defenders Phantom, outside defenders Mercurial, central midfielders Tiempo and Phantom, outside midfielders Mercurial and forwards Mercurial.
