Mercurial

The Nike Mercurial are designed for the fastest players, maximum lightness without sacrificing traction and effectiveness in explosive or braking exits. They are the perfect shoes for those looking for support in speed and acceleration, and at the same time a light and innovative product. They are the shoes of footballers of the calibre of Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappé, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Vinicius Junior, Dusan Vlahovic, Federico Chiesa or Nicolò Barella.

Nike Mercurial football boots are divided into SuperFly and Vapor. What is the difference? Mercurial SuperFly has the sock (collar), while Mercurial Vapor is a low shoe (without sock). The other features of the shoe remain the same.

Nike presents these shoes in the classic four price points, from Elite the most expensive to Club the most affordable.

And in variants by ground type: FG - hard grass fields, SG - soft grass fields, AG - artificial fields.

Mercurial Vapor

Mercurial Superfly

As we mentioned earlier, the difference between Mercurial SuperFly and Mercurial Vapor is the sock (collar). The collar helps to maintain stability and firmness of the ankle, especially in changes of direction. This is where fast players such as midfielders and forwards can benefit in high-speed situations with sudden changes of direction: greater stability in changes of direction allows for more fluid and precise movements.

That said, it is important to consider the shape of the foot and especially the instep when deciding on the right shoe. If you have a more tapered foot, we recommend choosing freely between SuperFly or Vapor according to your personal taste. If, on the other hand, you have a high instep, we tend to recommend Vapor as the SuperFly sock may be too tight on the ankle.

Remember to choose the right sole plate. What kind of pitch do you play on? FG - firm ground - indicates the outsole plate for hard grass pitches. For softer pitches choose SG - soft ground. For artificial turf, choose AG - artificial ground. If you play five-a-side football, we recommend you go to the Nike Mercurial five-a-side football section.

Let's come to the different price points and their differences. Again, we have the classic four Nike price points: Club, Academy, Pro, Elite. There are big technological differences between the lower (Club, Academy) and higher (Pro, Elite) price points.

The professional models offer features such as ACC treatment - to keep the foot dry in wet and rainy situations. The cleats are designed to maintain more traction and the sockliner uses 'fit' materials that provide better elasticity and adaptation to the ankle. The insole keeps the foot firm even in the most intense movements and the FlyKnit upper gives you maximum grip and feel for the ball.
